The Client Advocate plays a vital role in Atlanta Mission’s ministry by walking alongside men in recovery and life transformation. This role builds meaningful relationships with clients, helping them identify barriers, set goals, and move toward lasting stability. Through encouragement, accountability, and coordination of services, the Client Advocate supports clients in progressing through their individualized plans while fostering a safe, respectful, and hope-filled community.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, the Client Advocate helps ensure that each client is equipped with the resources, support, and guidance needed to pursue personal, vocational, and spiritual growth.
Client Engagement & Support
Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, providing encouragement, accountability, and guidance throughout their program journey
Support clients in maintaining stability in their personal lives while working toward individualized personal, vocational, and recovery goals
Encourage and motivate clients to pursue progress while appropriately challenging them to take ownership of their growth and responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and problem-solving assistance as clients navigate barriers to success
Case Coordination & Collaboration
Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated support for each client’s progress and needs
Maintain ongoing communication with clients and team members regarding progress, challenges, and next steps in their individualized plans
Assist in coordinating client participation in internal programming, appointments, and external activities
Program Facilitation
Facilitate client classes, workshops, and group meetings designed to promote life skills, personal responsibility, and growth
Help maintain engagement and accountability within program expectations and schedules
Documentation & Reporting
Document client interactions, progress, and relevant updates accurately within the client management system
Prepare and maintain individual client reports and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program requirements
Track participation, progress, and outcomes in alignment with established program metrics
Logistics & Client Support
Assist clients in arranging transportation to appointments, interviews, and other program-related activities
Provide transportation for clients when needed and approved, ensuring safe and responsible vehicle use
Coordinate client attendance for program activities, classes, and external engagements
Community Environment
Contribute to a supportive, structured, and respectful community environment that promotes growth, accountability, and stability for all clients

Position Requirements:
Minimum of 1–3 years of professional experience in human services, case management, residential programs, recovery programs, nonprofit ministry, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
Experience supporting individuals facing barriers such as homelessness, addiction recovery, trauma, unemployment, or life instability preferred
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, client advocacy, and strengths-based approaches to support
Ability to encourage, motivate, and hold clients accountable while maintaining empathy and respect
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Experience facilitating groups, life skills classes, or client meetings preferred
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and reports using client management or case management systems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and program activities simultaneously
Comfortable working within a structured program environment with established schedules, expectations, and metrics
Ability to assist with client transportation as needed, including maintaining a clean driving record (MVR)
Commitment to the mission, values, and Christian ministry environment of Atlanta Mission
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, walking or sitting)
Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
Must be able to communicate accurate information
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10lbs
Must have peripheral vision and depth perception
Environmental Job Requirements:
Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
Occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles
Moderate noise as in a business office environment
