JOB TITLE: Assistant Control Room Producer, Events (Part-time)
DEPARTMENT: Marketing, Cubs Productions
REPORTS TO: Senior Producer, Video Board Operations
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $28.00 per hour USD

OUR STORY
THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball’s National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1914, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
This position is responsible for supporting the production for Wrigley Field and Gallagher Way non-baseball events including concerts, and other campus events. This role will focus on overseeing event asset management and day-of-event crew logistics and communication. This position will support events as well as administrative duties in the control room on non-event days. As part of Cubs Productions, this role will be responsible for delivering best-in-class service to all internal and external clients.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Support the A/V set-up, execution and break-down of public and private events
Ensure seamless event production using video board control room equipment
Perform various production duties as needed, including but not limited to:
Graphics Operation
Basic Audio Mixing
Clip Playback for video board
Asset Management and Quality Control
Basic Technical Directing and Producing
Assist with graphics projects, including but not limited to custom creation and updating from templates
Serve as Manager on Duty for Cubs Productions team, leading preparation and execution of the event
Proactively handle issues as they arise and troubleshoot emerging problems on and before event day
Support Cubs Productions team in projects and process enhancements as it relates to day-to-day needs of the organization
Demonstrate a service-oriented attitude along with outstanding guest service skills
Implement and execute customer service initiatives, Wrigley Field policies and staff procedures
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
1-2 years of experience in a production setting for a large-scale, multi-purpose venue
Demonstrates technical proficiency in video board control room systems (A/V hardware and software experience)
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe programs
Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and projects
A team player, with positive attitude and strong internal and external customer service philosophy
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift and/or carry 15-35 pounds
WHAT SETS YOU APART:
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with Ross video software (Xpression & Dashboard), Daktronics and Evertz equipment
Familiarity with cinema-style cameras, preferably Sony FS7/FS5
Experience with product management software (Monday.com)
Experience in stage management
Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines
