Job Summary:
As a Data Engineer Intern, you’ll partner with CFP’s Data & Analytics team to build and improve data pipelines and trusted datasets that feed Power BI reporting. You’ll apply relational database concepts and SQL to model data, assist with ingestion/transformations, and learn enterprise best practices. Python experience is welcome but not required. Experience or interest in Azure Data Factory is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model & Query Data: Use relational database concepts to design tables/views and write performant SQL for data transformations and validation.
- Enable Analytics: Prepare clean, well‑documented datasets/dataflows that power Power BI reports and dashboards used by operations and leadership.
- Pipeline Support: Assist in building, monitoring, and troubleshooting data pipelines; exposure to Azure Data Factory orchestration is a plus.
- Data Quality: Help define checks, reconcile source vs. target, and document data lineage to increase trust in published data.
- Collaboration: Work with analysts, engineers, and business partners to clarify requirements, iterate quickly, and translate needs into reliable data assets.
- Documentation: Maintain clear SOPs, code comments, and handoffs so work is reproducible and supportable by the team.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Information Science, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
