Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) seeks friendly, polite and enthusiastic people to work part-time as Theater Ushers for mainstage performances for our upcoming season.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To assist theater guests by handing out programs, bringing guests to their ticketed seats and directing guests to other locations (bathrooms, concessions), answering various questions, pointing out the nearest exits, restrooms, etc
To ensure the safety of the audience during events
Qualifications
Customer service experience is helpful, ability to provide friendly and polite customer service is a must
MUST be able to work evenings and weekends, sometimes past 11:00 pm
Works well with others and is a team player
Any applicants under age 18 must obtain their Student General Employment Certificate (AT-19) and appropriate paperwork from their school indicating that they may work later than 10pm

This role is on-site and cannot be conducted remotely.
Requires the ability to climb stairs, stand throughout performances
Ability to lift to 20 pounds
Compensation:
This position is part-time, seasonal, non-exempt
The compensation for this position is $20.24 per hour (4 hour minimum in most cases)
Eligible for Sick and Safe Time and Paid Hours Off
