Job Summary:
The Photo/Video Assistant supports Butler University Recreation & Wellness by capturing and producing high-quality visual media that highlights programs, events, facilities, and campus engagement. This role focuses on photography and videography while supporting digital storytelling efforts across social media, marketing materials, and internal communications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Capture photo and video content of Recreation & Wellness programs, events, facilities, and participants.
- Assist with filming short-form and long-form video content for social media, marketing campaigns, and internal use.
- Edit photos and videos for digital platforms, social media, and promotional materials.
- Organize, label, and maintain photo and video assets for easy access and future use.
- Support live event coverage, including setup, shooting, and breakdown as needed.
- Collaborate with Recreation & Wellness staff to plan shot lists and content needs.
- Ensure visual content aligns with RecWell branding and quality standards.
- Assist with on-campus marketing efforts such as event coverage, tabling, and outreach initiatives as needed.

- Gain hands-on experience in photography and videography for a university department.

Requirements:
- Current Butler University student (preferrably 1st - 3rd year)
- Majoring or minoring in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related field
- Familiarity with cameras, lighting, & audio equipment
- Basic editing skills using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, CapCut, or similar software.
- Strong attention to detail & visual composition
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Intermediate photography/videography skills, ability to use professional level equipment

- $12/hr
- 5-10 hours per week
