successful fabrication of Mold structures, platforms, carts and fixtures for mold production and facility operations
ensure all fabricated components are safe for use
maintain schedule and quality
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide documentation of current AWS certification or equivalent
fabricate steel structures for mold bracing
fabricate in process platforms, carts, fixtures, etc.
Accurately measure, cut, fit, bend , and weld mild steel
interpret technical drawings and instructions
Perform a variety of operations associated with layout and fabrication
Ensure all operations are performed safely
maintain all areas and equipment clean neat and organized, at all times
conduct daily routine maintenance of equipment
Store all materials safely at the end of the day
Conduct operations using TDC mold fabrication approved processes (ISPC)
Proficiencies:
light steel fabrication
stick, mig and tig welding
use drill press, hand tools, air tools, band saw, plasma cutter, overhead crane, pipe bender, pipe notcher, oxygen and acetylene torches
Accurately measure, cut, fit, and bending of raw materials
Plasma cutting
tube bending
rigging / heavy part handling
forklift, overhead hoist operation
reading Prints
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety: provides for continuous improvement and zero recordable safety environment.
Quality: responsible for Adherence of procedures and processes.
Delivery: responsible for maintaining schedule to meet key milestones.
Cost: Maintains departmental budget in labor and materials.

Understands environmental compliance as it relates to material used in their area: chemical handling, usage, labeling, storage, and disposal.
Supports continuous improvement utilizing Safety system, Kaizen, CAR system, and other problem-solving techniques.
Responsible for the proper maintenance of all equipment used in their area and workplace organization using the 5S methodology.
Identifies problems (i.e. material shortages, employee relations issues, etc.) within their scope and communicates to the group leader when additional assistance is needed.
QualificationsGeneral knowledge and understanding of required power tools
Must be able to understand and execute top quality
Must be able to pass the strength/stress test and drug/alcohol screening contingent to the hiring process
Job requires standing and working in and around boats/molds throughout the entire day
Must work efficiently and in the safest manner possible, following all safety regulations at all time
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
