Our client is a leading Kenyan food manufacturing company specialized in the processing and distribution of high-quality products. Based in Nairobi, our client is known for producing food products servicing both domestic and export markets. The company is seeking a Head of Security, responsible for overseeing the safety of the personnel, security of material, buildings and information of an organization from physical assault, fraud, industrial espionage/sabotage by competitors or terrorists.
The role safeguards company assets, livestock, inventory, personnel, facilities, and brand reputation across farms, processing plants, cold storage facilities, distribution centers, and retail outlets. The role ensures physical security, loss prevention, and risk mitigation strategies are aligned to the realities of a high-value livestock and FMCG operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for creating a secure and safe working and transacting environment for the company.
- Develop security risk management framework with appropriate Policies, Procedures and Controls.
- Maintain close liaison with the external Security Company and Manage a group of security guards who ensure the protection of an organization's facilities;
- Plan, direct, and ensure implementation of comprehensive security systems for protection of individuals, commercial and industrial establishments;
- Plan and directs installation of electronic security systems, such as CCTV surveillance, entry controls, burglar alarms, smoke detectors and outdoor perimeter and microwave alarms;
- Network with various Private / Public Partnership to improve the efficiency of security and prosecutions of serious and violent Crime;
- Conduct surprise security drills to check the efficiency of all security measures;
- Plan and direct personal security and safety of personnel of the organization and that of visitors;
- Develop and enforce security procedures and regulations; and
- Act as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures and needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Security, or related field.
- Certification in Security Management or Risk (CPP (Certified Protection Professional) and PSP (Physical Security Professional), or equivalent preferred).
- At least ten (10) years of relevant working experience, of which five (5) must have been in a corporate organisation of similar size
