SUMMARY
We are looking for an Employer Liaison who is a passionate change-maker and thrives on working closely with our local business community to support their needs by matching them with key talent. The Employer Liaison plays a key role in connecting job seekers with meaningful experiential and employment opportunities. This position focuses heavily on Job Development and Employer Relationship Management—identifying employer needs, creating quality placements, and ensuring successful matches that support both participant goals and business workforce requirements. The Employer Liaison also supports employers to maintain talent through dedicated retention supports. Working within the Integrated Employment Services model of Employment Ontario, this vital role will work alongside a dedicated team of career specialists in a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Matching, Placement & Employer Engagement • Conduct targeted Job Development by building and maintaining strong employer relationships across sectors to identify suitable work opportunities for participants. • Match participants with barriers to employment to opportunities aligned with their skills, interests, and career goals. • Negotiate employment terms, placement agreements, training plans, and financial incentives that meet employer needs while supporting participant success. • Coordinate experiential learning and on the job training opportunities, including volunteer placements, job trials, work experience, and training incentive placements. • Ensure employers meet eligibility requirements; complete site visits to confirm safe, appropriate workplaces. • Provide employers with support, including diversity/sensitivity guidance, accommodation information, and workplace safety expectations. • Monitor placements, offering coaching to both participants and employers to resolve workplace challenges and promote retention. • Manage contracts and incentive processing in a timely and accurate manner. • Conduct outreach to promote ES services and expand employer networks. • Organize hiring events with Employers on behalf of Achev's employment services team
Job Retention Support • Identify participants at risk of losing employment or requiring additional support to advance. • Develop individualized retention support plans with participants, employers, and mentors/coaches. • Monitor retention plans and adjust supports as needed to ensure sustainable employment. • Document rationale and service plans for Job Retention eligibility and activities.
Job Search Support • Deliver individualized and group based job search assistance, including career exploration and employment goal setting. • Provide job search tools and training (resumés, interviews, applications, job search strategies). • Support participants in understanding workplace culture, expectations, rights, and responsibilities. • Assist with assessment of qualifications, accreditation pathways, and relevant career-related training resources. • Offer mentorship, coaching, and referrals to education, training, and community supports.
Additional Responsibilities • Maintain accurate client and employer records in databases including all follow ups, appointments, and service activity notes. • Collaborate with Client Service Planning and Coordinators to update action plans and supports. • Negotiate wage incentive agreements with employers and clients • Accurately document individual client financials between employers, Achev, clients, and funders • Provide assistance across the Employment Services model as required. • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Qualifications • University degree or college diploma, or equivalent combination of skills and experience. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Job Development, Job Placement, Job Retention, or employment coaching. • Minimum 2 years facilitating job search workshops for adult learners. • Experience with Employment Ontario or Job Development considered an asset. • Strong knowledge of job search strategies, Ontario/GTA labour market trends, and career development tools. • Experience working with diverse populations, including youth, adults, newcomers, and individuals with specialized needs. • Knowledge of community resources and employment supports. • Highly organized, adaptable, and goal oriented with strong time management skills. • Strong interpersonal, communication, group facilitation, and one on one coaching skills. • Proficient in computers, online tools, and career related software or assessments. • Ability to provide service in English and/or French (or additional languages) is an asset. • Ability to work evenings, weekends, or split shifts as required. • Access to a vehicle is an asset.
