As we continue to grow our Ceramics Studio, our Retail Shop plays a key role in bringing creativity and commerce together - creating moments of connection, authenticity, and joy for everyone who walks through our doors.

✨ The Role

As a Ceramic Shop Assistant (Freelancer) at Vida Plena, you’ll be the welcoming face of our Ceramics Studio retail space. You’ll support day-to-day shop operations, create a warm and helpful customer experience, and contribute to sales and studio flow - working closely with the Shop Manager and supporting workshops.

 🧩 Your Key Responsibilities

🧡 Guest Experience & Sales

• Welcome customers with genuine hospitality, answer questions, and support sales of ceramic pieces and workshops.
• Know our brands, pieces, and studio offering - sharing product details and making thoughtful recommendations.
• Use simple sales techniques to increase revenue while keeping the experience relaxed and human.

🧼 Shop Operations & Standards

• Keep the shop clean, organised, and visually appealing throughout the day.
• Open and/or close the studio daily, following the agreed procedures.
• Take care of shop assets and ensure materials needed for sales are available (packaging, supplies, etc.).

💶 Cash & Daily Closing

• Record daily sales accurately.
• Complete cash closing procedures with attention to detail and consistency.

📦 Stock, Materials & Commercial Support

• Predict upcoming needs for products, packaging, and materials, and flag them proactively.
• Help keep the retail operation running smoothly by anticipating what’s needed to sell effectively.

  🎨 Workshop & Studio Support

• Support workshop activities by helping prepare the space and cleaning/resetting before and after sessions.
• Deliver completed workshop pieces to customers when they come to collect them.

✅ What We Expect From You

• 1+ year of experience in sales (retail, hospitality, or similar).
• Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfort using basic computer tools (Excel, Word, Gmail, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate well and stay calm under pressure.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus.

Nice to have

• Genuine interest in ceramics and appreciation for the craft.
