Job SummaryUATX is hiring a Graphic Designer to support the institution’s visual output across digital, web, print, and merchandising. This is not a “brand visionary” role. It is an execution role for someone who takes pride in great typography, strong layout, fast turnaround, and careful attention to detail. The designer will also be responsible for routine web updates and visual edits within WordPress.Responsibilities·Design ExecutionoCreate graphics for digital platforms (social media, email, web, video thumbnails)oDesign print materials (event collateral, advertising, one-pagers, internal documents, signage)oProduce branded templates that maintain consistency across the institutionoPrepare files for print, merchandising, and digital distribution·Web & WordPressoMake routine website updates in WordPress (text edits, image swaps, layout adjustments)oUpload and format new content pages in coordination with editorialoMaintain visual consistency and accuracy across the siteoTroubleshoot basic layout or formatting issues within WordPress themes·Brand & Visual ConsistencyoApply institutional brand standards consistentlyoWork alongside the Creative Director to maintain and evolve visual systemsoEnsure materials are aligned with the university’s tone and mission Qualifications·2–5 years of graphic design experience·Strong portfolio demonstrating typography, layout, and digital work·Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)·Working knowledge of WordPress (content editing, page builds, basic troubleshooting)·High attention to detail and strong file organization Preferred QualificationsExperience working in-house or within a small creative teamBasic understanding of HTML/CSS (not required but helpful)Experience designing for mission-driven or educational institutions What We’re Looking ForSomeone who values precision and consistencyComfortable operating in a lean, startup-style environmentReliable, responsive, and steady under deadline
