The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic High Performance & Operations Manager (HPOM) to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of all high-performance and team operations functions for the Melbourne Mavericks.

This role is central to creating and sustaining an elite performance environment. The HPM oversees performance systems, medical and wellbeing frameworks, season and weekly planning, governance and compliance, and major team logistics. The role also provides guidance, oversight and analysis to the Bendigo Spirit and Perth Lynx high-performance programs.

The High Performance Manager in an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, and leads a team of staff including the Athletic Performance Manager, Wellbeing and Culture Manager and Team Operations Assistant, ensuring all programs are aligned, accountable and operating at the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

High Performance Systems & Operations

• Design, implement and oversee high-performance systems and operational processes
• Manage the High Performance budget in partnership with SEN Finance
• Oversee Reserves and pathways operations and budget
• Ensure operational excellence across training, competition and planning cycles

Governance, Integrity & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with Super Netball Rules and Regulations
• Maintain strong governance, integrity and work health and safety standards
• Support successful audit outcomes

Athlete Management

• Act as primary off-court contact for players
• Coordinate player appearances and external commitments
• Ensure timely resolution of player matters in consultation with the wider team

Performance Staff Leadership

• Manage performance staff including medical and allied health practitioners
• Establish clear KPIs, schedules and service delivery standards
• Ensure services are delivered in line with contractual obligations
• Drive a collaborative and athlete-centered support model

Reporting & Analytics

• Deliver monthly high-performance reports
• Provide analysis across all HP pillars for GM and Board reporting

Stakeholder Engagement

• Represent the club in Netball Australia and SSN forums
• Work closely as part of the SLT with the GM and Head Coach
• Partner with SEN Shared Services, Finance and external providers

• Proven experience in high-performance sport management
• Strong financial and budget management capability
• Deep understanding of governance and league compliance requirements
• Experience managing multidisciplinary performance teams
• Excellent planning, prioritisation and execution skills
• An exceptional ability to build, manage, and sustain strategic relationships with clear and confident communication across diverse stakeholders
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability
