Internship Opportunity for TVET Graduates
Summary:
We are interested in understanding the career opportunities open to TVET graduates. We are therefore conducting interviews with current and past TVET graduates in Kigali, Musanze and Nyanza districts. We want to hire three interns based in Kigali to assist us in preparing and conducting these interviews.
Who We Are
Laterite is a data, research and analytics firm working on complex development challenges.
We partner with universities, global think tanks, international NGOs, multilateral donors, and government ministries. Our clients include the World Bank, USAID, TechnoServe, the Mastercard Foundation, and others.
We operate across the Netherlands, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Peru. Our team includes 90+ full-time staff and more than 2,000 enumerators.
We believe impact is long-term. It requires being embedded in context. It requires building local teams and strong data systems. It requires trust.
We are deliberate about building a collaborative, high-trust working environment where people grow over time — and where autonomy is real.
What you’ll do
The intern will help in three primary ways:
i) prior to visiting the TVET schools, the intern will help prepare the interview questions
ii) every Friday and every Saturday from the 13th March to 3rd April, the intern will be part of a team who visits a secondary TVET school and interviews students about their school experience and about their future career.
iii) after all interviews have been conducted, the intern will help understand the important themes in the text.
